How lost was my conditionA
Till Jesus made me wholeB
There is but one PhysicianA
Can cure a sin sick soulB
Next door to death he found meC
And snatched me from the graveD
To tell to all around meC
His wondrous pow'r to saveD
-
The worst of all diseasesE
Is light compared with sinF
On every part it seizesG
But rages most withinF
'Tis palsy plague and feverH
And madness all combinedI
And none but a believerH
The least relief can findI
-
From men great skill professingJ
I thought a cure to gainK
But this proved more distressingJ
And added to my painK
Some said that nothing ailed meC
Some gave me up for lostL
Thus every refuge failed meC
And all my hopes were crossedL
-
At length this great PhysicianA
How matchless is his graceM
Accepted my petitionA
And undertook my caseM
First gave me sight to view himN
For sin my eyes had sealedO
Then bid me look unto himN
I looked and I was healedO
-
A dying risen JesusP
Seen by the eye of faithQ
At once from danger frees usP
And saves the soul from deathR
Come then to this PhysicianA
His help he'll freely giveS
He makes no hard conditionA
'Tis only look and liveT
