Philadelphia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEF GGHH IIJK CDLL MMNN

Thus saith the holy One and trueA
To his beloved faithful fewA
Of heav'n and hell I hold the keysB
To shut or open as I pleaseB
-
I know thy works and I approveC
Though small thy strength sincere thy loveD
Go on my word and name to ownE
For none shall rob thee of thy crownF
-
Before thee see my mercy's doorG
Stands open wide to shut no moreG
Fear not temptation's fiery dayH
For I will be thy strength and stayH
-
Thou hast my promise hold it fastI
The trying hour will soon be pastI
Rejoice for lo I quickly comeJ
To take thee to my heav'nly homeK
-
A pillar there no more to moveC
Inscribed with all my names of loveD
A monument of mighty graceL
Thou shalt for ever have a placeL
-
Such is the conqueror's rewardM
Prepared and promised by the LordM
Let him that has the ear of faithN
Attend to what the Spirit saithN
