More With Us Than With Them Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF BBGH

Alas Elisha's servant criedA
When he the Syrian army spiedA
But he was soon released from careB
In answer to the prophet's prayerB
-
Straitway he saw with other eyesC
A greater army from the skiesC
A fiery guard around the hillD
Thus are the saints preserved stillD
-
When Satan and his host appearE
Like him of old I faint and fearE
Like him by faith with joy I seeF
A greater host engaged for meF
-
The saints espouse my cause by prayerB
The angels make my soul their careB
Mine is the promise sealed with bloodG
And Jesus lives to make it goodH
