Manna To Israel Well Supplied Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGH IJIJ KDKD LMNM OPQP

Manna to Israel well suppliedA
The want of other breadB
While God is able to provideA
His people shall be fedB
-
Thus though the corn and wine should failC
And creature streams be dryD
The prayer of faith will still prevailC
For blessings from on highD
-
Of his kind care how sweet a proofE
It suited every tasteF
Who gathered most had just enoughG
Enough who gathered leastH
-
'Tis thus our gracious Lord providesI
Our comforts and our caresJ
His own unerring hand providesI
And gives us each our sharesJ
-
He knows how much the weak can bearK
And helps them when they cryD
The strongest have no strength to spareK
For such he'll strongly tryD
-
Daily they saw the Manna comeL
And cover all the groundM
But what they tried to keep at homeN
Corrupted soon was foundM
-
Vain their attempt to store it upO
This was to tempt the LordP
Israel must live by faith and hopeQ
And not upon a hoardP
