Bartimaeus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE FGFHIJIJ KLKLDMDM

Mercy O thou Son of DavidA
Thus blind Bartimaeus prayedB
Others by thy word are savedC
Now to me afford thine aidB
Many for his crying chid himD
But he called the louder stillE
Till the gracious Saviour bid himD
Come and ask me what you willE
-
Money was not what he wantedF
Though by begging used to liveG
But he asked and Jesus grantedF
Alms which none but he could giveH
Lord remove this grievous blindnessI
Let my eyes behold the dayJ
Strait he saw and won by kindnessI
Followed Jesus in the wayJ
-
O methinks I hear him praisingK
Publishing to all aroundL
Friends is not my case amazingK
What a Saviour I have foundL
O that all the blind but knew himD
And would be advised by meM
Surely would they hasten to himD
He would cause them all to seeM
