Stream And Sea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ

A river flowed through a desert landA
On its way to find the seaB
And saw naught else than glaring sandA
And scarcely a shady treeB
-
The distant stars looked down by nightC
And the burning sun by dayD
On the crystal stream so pure and brightC
But the sea was far awayD
-
Sometimes at night the little streamE
Would sigh for the sea's embraceF
And oft would see as in a dreamE
The longed for ocean's faceF
-
At last one day it felt a thrillG
It had never known beforeH
As it reached the brow of a lofty hillG
And saw the wave lapped shoreH
-
And it flung itself with a mighty leapI
From the crest of the hill aboveJ
Till its waters mingled with the deepI
And the name of the sea was LoveJ
