Proem Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDE FGHGII JKLKDE

They called him mad the poor old manA
Whose white hair worn and thinB
Fell o'er his shoulders as he playedC
His cherished violinB
Forever drawing to and froD
O'er silent strings a loosened bowE
-
At times on his pathetic faceF
A look of perfect rapture shoneG
Intent on some celestial chordsH
Discerned by him aloneG
And sometimes he would smile and pauseI
As if receiving loud applauseI
-
So many a humble poet dreamsJ
His songs will touch the human heartK
And full of hope his offering laysL
Before the shrine of ArtK
Poor dreamer may he never knowD
That he too draws a silent bowE
