In November Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGIJJ KJKJLL MJMJNN| Under my trees of green and gold | A |
| I stroll in the soft autumnal days | B |
| With never a hint of winter's cold | A |
| Though the mountain sides are a brilliant maze | B |
| Which spreads from the gleaming lake below | C |
| To gild the edge of the distant snow | C |
| - | |
| Closed are the stately inns once more | D |
| Flown like the birds is the latest guest | E |
| Many have gone to a southern shore | D |
| Some to the east and some to the west | E |
| But the smiling landlords count their gains | F |
| And we know well that the best remains | F |
| - | |
| For the walls are lined with precious books | G |
| And the hearth and home are always here | H |
| And the garden hath a score of nooks | G |
| Where flowers bloom throughout the year | I |
| And now that the restless crowd is gone | J |
| I hear the flute of my rustic Faun | J |
| - | |
| Why should I grieve if from my trees | K |
| The gorgeous leaves fall one by one | J |
| Through the clearer space with greater ease | K |
| I feel the warmth of the genial sun | J |
| And though the plane trees stand bereft | L |
| The pines and cypresses are left | L |
| - | |
| Does the gay world leave us Well good bye | M |
| It will come again perhaps too soon | J |
| We have the mountains lake and sky | M |
| And solitude is a precious boon | J |
| Yet the falling leaves so fair and fleet | N |
| Their memory after all is sweet | N |
