Day And Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHHII JJKKFF

Twilight is falling on lake and on landA
Softly the wavelets steal in to the strandA
Fisher boats floating like sea gulls at restB
Glow in the lingering light of the westB
Far away vesper bells hallow the airC
Ave Maria the world seems at prayerC
-
One more immaculate sunset exposedD
One chapter more of life's history closedD
One more bead told on the chaplet of timeE
One further stride in Earth's orbit sublimeE
Linked to the measureless chain of the pastF
One added day to so many their lastF
-
Slowly the colors diminish and dieG
Slowly the stellar hosts people the skyG
Lost is the light on the fishermen's sailsH
Sweet is the exquisite peace that prevailsH
Silence and solitude brood o'er the deepI
Ave Maria the world seems to sleepI
-
One more magnificent pageant to faceJ
Numberless systems in infinite spaceJ
Once more our planet in majesty rollsK
On through the darkness its burden of soulsK
Linked to the limitless chain of the pastF
One added night to so many their lastF
