After The Storm Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKLK MNONPQRQ STTTUKVK

The duel of the warring cloudsA
Hath ended with the dayB
Their scintillant electric bladesC
Have ceased their fearful playB
The pent up fury of their hateD
Hath found at last releaseE
And o'er the tempest stricken earthF
Broods now the hush of peaceE
-
The passing of the hurricaneG
Hath swept the sultry skiesH
The clearness of the atmosphereI
Brings jubilant surpriseH
The mountain peaks are glorifiedJ
With freshly fallen snowK
And stealing o'er their coronetsL
Appears the sunset glowK
-
An hour since a torrid heatM
Oppressed the languid frameN
The wind was as the khamseen's breathO
The solar touch seemed flameN
But now the air rejuvenatesP
The breeze refreshment bringsQ
The lustrous leaves drop diamondsR
The lark with rapture singsQ
-
Fear not dear heart life's darkest stormsS
Shall likewise end in lightT
Behind the blackest thundercloudT
The sun shines clear and brightT
Once more celestial heights shall wearU
Their sheen of spotless snowK
And on the bravely steadfast soulV
The smile of God shall glowK
