By Then Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBC CBBD EFE GEH

Though every nightfall promises a new dayA
Never stopped is the grave keeper s shovelB
Though new blooms always sprout after drizzleB
Never abated your withering graceC
-
When the wrinkles crawl across the pale faceC
the careful steps would gradually stumbleB
When the cold frost dyes over the petalB
the strongest stems would eventually breakD
-
By then who would be there with you at dawnE
As the first light falls on your final breathsF
Counting the past days that would soon be goneE
-
By then where would be a place you could restG
As lone man stands with his shovel in lawnE
Feeling the cold chill that belongs to deathH
