The White Flag Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC CDED CFGF HCIC JKCK

I sent my love two roses oneA
As white as driven snowB
And one a blushing royal redC
A flaming JacqueminotC
-
I meant to touch and test my fateC
That night I should divineD
The moment I should see my loveE
If her true heart were mineD
-
For if she holds me dear I saidC
She'll wear my blushing roseF
If not she'll wear my cold LamarqueG
As white as winter's snowsF
-
My heart sank when I met her sureH
I had been overboldC
For on her breast my pale rose layI
In virgin whiteness coldC
-
Yet with low words she greeted meJ
With smiles divinely tenderK
Upon her cheek the red rose dawnedC
The white rose meant surrenderK
