The Way To Heaven Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCC DDEE FGHI JJDD KKLM NNOO

From the GermanA
-
-
One day the Sultan grand and grimB
Ordered the Mufti brought to himB
Now let thy wisdom solve for meC
The question I shall put to theeC
-
The different tribes beneath my swayD
Four several sects of priests obeyD
Now tell me which of all the fourE
Is on the path to Heaven's doorE
-
The Sultan spake and then was dumbF
The Mufti looked about the roomG
And straight made answer to his lordH
Fearing the bowstring at each wordI
-
Thou godlike in thy lofty birthJ
Who art our Allah upon earthJ
Illume me with thy favoring rayD
And I will answer as I mayD
-
Here where thou thronest in thy hallK
I see there are four doors in allK
And through all four thy slaves may gazeL
Upon the brightness of thy faceM
-
That I came hither safely throughN
Was to thy gracious message dueN
And blinded by thy splendor's flameO
I cannot tell the way I cameO
