Exile From God Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HEHE

I do not fear to lay my body downA
In death to shareB
The life of the dark earth and lose my ownC
If God is thereB
-
I have so loved all sense of Him sweet mightD
Of color and soundE
His tangible loveliness and living lightD
That robes me 'roundE
-
If to His heart in the hushed grave and dimF
We sink more nearG
It shall be well living we rest in HimF
Only I fearG
-
Lest from my God in lonely death I lapseH
And the dumb clodE
Lose him for God is life and death perhapsH
Exile from GodE
