Winter Roses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNON PQRS TAUA NVWV

My garden roses long agoA
Have perished from the leaf strewn walksB
Their pale fair sisters smile no moreC
Upon the sweet brier stalksB
-
Gone with the flower time of my lifeD
Spring's violets summer's blooming prideE
And Nature's winter and my ownF
Stand flowerless side by sideE
-
So might I yesterday have sungG
To day in bleak December's noonH
Come sweetest fragrance shapes and huesI
The rosy wealth of JuneH
-
Bless the young bands that culled the giftJ
And bless the hearts that prompted itK
If undeserved it comes at leastL
It seems not all unfitK
-
Of old my Quaker ancestorsM
Had gifts of forty stripes save oneN
To day as many roses crownO
The gray head of their sonN
-
And with them to my fancy's eyeP
The fresh faced givers smiling comeQ
And nine and thirty happy girlsR
Make glad a lonely roomS
-
They bring the atmosphere of youthT
The light and warmth of long agoA
Are in my heart and on my cheekU
The airs of morning blowA
-
O buds of girlhood yet unblownN
And fairer than the gift ye choseV
For you may years like leaves unfoldW
The heart of Sharon's roseV
