To G. G. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCB DEED FGHI JKKJ

AN AUTOGRAPHA
-
Graceful in name and in thyself our riverB
None fairer saw in John Ward's pilgrim flockC
Proof that upon their century rooted stockC
The English roses bloom as fresh as everB
-
Take the warm welcome of new friends with theeD
And listening to thy home's familiar chimeE
Dream that thou hearest with it keeping timeE
The bells on Merrimac sound across the seaD
-
Think of our thrushes when the lark sings clearF
Of our sweet Mayflowers when the daisies bloomG
And bear to our and thy ancestral homeH
The kindly greeting of its children hereI
-
Say that our love survives the severing strainJ
That the New England with the Old holds fastK
The proud fond memories of a common pastK
Unbroken still the ties of blood remainJ
