The Wind Of March Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Up from the sea the wild north wind is blowingA
Under the sky's gray archB
Smiling I watch the shaken elm boughs knowingA
It is the wind of MarchB
-
Between the passing and the coming seasonC
This stormy interludeD
Gives to our winter wearied hearts a reasonC
For trustful gratitudeD
-
Welcome to waiting ears its harsh forewarningA
Of light and warmth to comeE
The longed for joy of Nature's Easter morningA
The earth arisen in bloomF
-
In the loud tumult winter's strength is breakingA
I listen to the soundG
As to a voice of resurrection wakingA
To life the dead cold groundG
-
Between these gusts to the soft lapse I hearkenC
Of rivulets on their wayH
I see these tossed and naked tree tops darkenC
With the fresh leaves of MayH
-
This roar of storm this sky so gray and loweringA
Invite the airs of SpringA
A warmer sunshine over fields of floweringA
The bluebird's song and wingA
-
Closely behind the Gulf's warm breezes followI
This northern hurricaneC
And borne thereon the bobolink and swallowI
Shall visit us againC
-
And in green wood paths in the kine fed pastureJ
And by the whispering rillsK
Shall flowers repeat the lesson of the MasterJ
Taught on his Syrian hillsK
-
Blow then wild wind thy roar shall end in singingA
Thy chill in blossomingA
Come like Bethesda's troubling angel bringingA
The healing of the SpringA
