The Well Of Loch Maree Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DBEB AFGF HIAI JKLK MN N

Calm on the breast of Loch MareeA
A little isle reposesB
A shadow woven of the oakC
And willow o'er it closesB
-
Within a Druid's mound is seenD
Set round with stony wardersB
A fountain gushing through the turfE
Flows o'er its grassy bordersB
-
And whoso bathes therein his browA
With care or madness burningF
Feels once again his healthful thoughtG
And sense of peace returningF
-
O restless heart and fevered brainH
Unquiet and unstableI
That holy well of Loch MareeA
Is more than idle fableI
-
Life's changes vex its discords stunJ
Its glaring sunshine blindethK
And blest is he who on his wayL
That fount of healing findethK
-
The shadows of a humbled willM
And contrite heart are o'er itN
Go read its legend 'TRUST IN GOD '-
On Faith's white stones before itN
