The Sisters - A Picture By Barry Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH DJFJ KEDE LMNM

The shade for me but over theeA
The lingering sunshine stillB
As smiling to the silent streamC
Comes down the singing rillB
-
So come to me my little oneD
My years with thee I shareE
And mingle with a sister's loveF
A mother's tender careE
-
But keep the smile upon thy lipG
The trust upon thy browH
Since for the dear one God hath calledI
We have an angel nowH
-
Our mother from the fields of heavenD
Shall still her ear inclineJ
Nor need we fear her human loveF
Is less for love divineJ
-
The songs are sweet they sing beneathK
The trees of life so fairE
But sweetest of the songs of heavenD
Shall be her children's prayerE
-
Then darling rest upon my breastL
And teach my heart to leanM
With thy sweet trust upon the armN
Which folds us both unseenM
