The Problem Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEDEFFGGHGGHAIJJI JKLMNOOPPPQR

IA
NOT without envy Wealth at times must lookB
On their brown strength who wield the reaping hook 'C
And scythe or at the forge fire shape the ploughD
Or the steel harness of the steeds of steamE
All who by skill and patience anyhowD
Make service noble and the earth redeemE
From savageness By kingly accoladeF
Than theirs was never worthier knighthood madeF
Well for them if while demagogues their vainG
And evil counsels proffer they maintainG
Their honest manhood unseduced and wageH
No war with Labor's right to Labor's gainG
Of sweet home comfort rest of hand and brainG
And softer pillow for the head of AgeH
IIA
And well for Gain if it ungrudging yieldsI
Labor its just demand and well for EaseJ
If in the uses of its own it seesJ
No wrong to him who tills its pleasant fieldsI
And spreads the table of its luxuriesJ
The interests of the rich man and the poorK
Are one and same inseparable evermoreL
And when scant wage or labor fail to giveM
Food shelter raiment wherewithal to liveN
Need has its rights necessity its claimO
Yea even self wrought misery and shameO
Test well the charity suffering long and kindP
The home pressed question of the age can findP
No answer in the catch words of the blindP
Leaders of blind Solution there is noneQ
Save in the Golden Rule of Christ aloneR
