The Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDEFAAGAA

Weary of jangling noises never stilledA
The skeptic's sneer the bigot's hate the dinB
Of clashing texts the webs of creed men spinB
Round simple truth the children grown who buildA
With gilded cards their new JerusalemC
Busy with sacerdotal tailoringsD
And tinsel gauds bedizening holy thingsD
I turn with glad and grateful heart from themE
To the sweet story of the FlorentineF
Immortal in her blameless maidenhoodA
Beautiful as God's angels and as goodA
Feeling that life even now may be divineG
With love no wrong can ever change to hateA
No sin make less than all compassionateA
