The shuttle of the unseen powers | B |
Works out a pattern not as ours | B |

What sound shall leave the smitten strings | C |
Fate holds and guides the hand of art | D |
The singer's is the servant's part | D |

That through its trembling threads is blown | E |
The patient organ cannot guess | F |
What hand its passive keys shall press | F |

Through wish resolve and act our will | G |
Is moved by undreamed forces still | G |

His strength with untried circumstance | H |

But glad or sad to His good end | J |
