Immortal love forever fullA
Forever flowing freeB
Forever shared forever wholeC
A never ebbing seaB
-
Our outward lips confess the nameD
All other names aboveE
Love only knoweth whence it cameD
And comprehendeth loveE
-
Blow winds of God awake and blowF
The mists of earth awayG
Shine out O Light divine and showF
How wide and far we strayG
-
We may not climb the heavenly steepsB
To bring the Lord Christ downH
In vain we search the lowest deepsB
For Him no depths can drownH
-
But warm sweet tender even yetI
A present help is HeB
And faith still has its OlivetI
And love its GalileeB
-
The healing of His seamless dressB
Is by our beds of painJ
We touch Him in life s throng and pressB
And we are whole againK
-
Through Him the first fond prayers are saidI
Our lips of childhood frameD
The last low whispers of our deadI
Are burdened with His NameD
-
O Lord and Master of us allL
Whate er our name or signM
We own Thy sway we hear Thy callL
We test our lives by ThineM
-
The letter fails the systems fallL
And every symbol wanesB
The Spirit over brooding allL
Eternal Love remainsB
