April Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIBJ KKLLMMMNOPPQQ

'T is the noon of the spring time yet never a birdA
In the wind shaken elm or the maple is heardA
For green meadow grasses wide levels of snowB
And blowing of drifts where the crocus should blowB
Where wind flower and violet amber and whiteC
On south sloping brooksides should smile in the lightC
O'er the cold winter beds of their late waking rootsD
The frosty flake eddies the ice crystal shootsD
And longing for light under wind driven heapsE
Round the boles of the pine wood the ground laurel creepsE
Unkissed of the sunshine unbaptized of showersF
With buds scarcely swelled which should burst into flowersF
We wait for thy coming sweet wind of the southG
For the touch of thy light wings the kiss of thy mouthG
For the yearly evangel thou bearest from GodH
Resurrection and life to the graves of the sodH
Up our long river valley for days have not ceasedI
The wail and the shriek of the bitter northeastI
Raw and chill as if winnowed through ices and snowB
All the way from the land of the wild EsquimauJ
Until all our dreams of the land of the blestK
Like that red hunter's turn to the sunny southwestK
O soul of the spring time its light and its breathL
Bring warmth to this coldness bring life to this deathL
Renew the great miracle let us beholdM
The stone from the mouth of the sepulchre rolledM
And Nature like Lazarus rise as of oldM
Let our faith which in darkness and coldness has lainN
Revive with the warmth and the brightness againO
And in blooming of flower and budding of treeP
The symbols and types of our destiny seeP
The life of the spring time the life of the wholeQ
And as sun to the sleeping earth love to the soulQ
