Cupid, Hymen, And Plutus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAAAABBCCAA DDAAEE FFGGHHIEJJ

As Cupid with his band of spritesA
In Paphian grove set things to rightsA
And trimmed his bow and tipped his arrowsA
And taught to play with Lesbia sparrowsA
Thus Hymen said Your blindness makesA
O Cupid wonderful mistakesA
You send me such ill coupled folksA
It grieves me now to give them yokesA
An old chap with his troubles ladenB
You bind to a light hearted maidenB
Or join incongruous minds togetherC
To squabble for a pin or featherC
Until they sue for a divorceA
To which the wife assents of courseA
-
It is your fault and none of mineD
Cupid replied I hearts combineD
You trade in settlements and deedsA
And care not for the heart that bleedsA
You couple them for gold and feeE
Complain of Plutus not of meE
-
Then Plutus added What can I doF
The settlement is what they spy toF
Say does Belinda blame her fateG
She only asked a great estateG
Doris was rich enough but humbleH
She got a title does she grumbleH
All men want money not a shoe tieI
Care they for excellence or beautyE
Oh all my boys is right enoughJ
They got the money hearts is stuffJ
