The Hounds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAB AAC AAC AAB

Far off a lonely houndA
Telling his loneliness all roundA
To the dark woods dark hills and darker seaB
-
And answering the soundA
Of that yet lonelier sea houndA
Telling his loneliness to the solitary starsC
-
Hearing the kennelled houndA
Some neighbourhood and comfort foundA
And slept beneath the comfortless high starsC
-
But that wild sea houndA
Unkennelled called all night all roundA
The unneighboured and uncomforted cold seaB
