Snows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJHAHKHHLMH

Now the long bearded chilly fingered winterA
Over the green fields sweeps his cloak and leavesB
Its whiteness there It caught on the wild treesC
Shook whiteness on the hedges and left bareD
South sloping corners and south fronting smoothE
Barks of tall beeches swaying 'neath their whitenessF
So gently that the whiteness does not fallG
The ash copse shows all white between gray polesH
The oaks spread arms to catch the wandering snowI
But the yews I wondered to see their dark all whiteJ
To see the soft flakes fallen on those grave deepsH
Lying there not burnt up by the yews' slow fireA
Could Time so whiten all the trembling sensesH
The youth the fairness the all challenging strengthK
And load even Love's grave deeps with his barren snowsH
Even so And what remainsH
The hills of thoughtL
That shape Time's snows and melt them and lift upM
Green and unchanging to the wandering starsH
