Shadows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABA CDA EFA GBBGA

The shadow of the lantern on the wallA
The lantern hanging from the twisted beamB
The eye that sees the lantern shadow and allA
-
The crackle of the sinking fire in the grateC
The far train the slow echo in the coombeD
The ear that hears fire train and echo and allA
-
The loveliness that is the secret shapeE
Of once seen sweet and oft dreamed lovelinessF
The brain that builds shape memory dream and allA
-
A white moon stares Time's thinning fabric throughG
And makes substantial insubstantial seemB
And shapes immortal mortal as a dreamB
And eye and brain flicker as shadows doG
Restlessly dancing on a cloudy wallA
