Memorial Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBC DDEEF GGHHC

The wild October skyA
Rises not so highA
The tree's roots that creepB
Into the earth's body thrust not so deepB
As our high and dark thoughtC
-
Yet thought need not roamD
Far off to bring you homeD
The sky is our wild mindE
Your roots are round our spirits twinedE
To ours are your hearts caughtF
-
O never buried deadG
The living brain in the headG
Is not so quick as youH
Burning our conscious darkness throughH
With brightness past our thoughtC
