It Was The Lovely Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDCBFBGBHBHI

It was the lovely moon she liftedA
Slowly her white brow amongB
Bronze cloud waves that ebbed and driftedA
Faintly faintlier afarC
Calm she looked yet pale with wonderD
Sweet in unwonted thoughtfulnessE
Watching the earth that dwindled underD
Faintly faintlier afarC
It was the lovely moon that lovelikeB
Hovered over the wandering tiredF
Earth her bosom gray and dovelikeB
Hovering beautiful as a doveG
The lovely moon her soft light fallingB
Lightly on roof and poplar and pineH
Tree to tree whispering and callingB
Wonderful in the silvery shineH
Of the round lovely thoughtful moonI
