But Most Thy Light Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBC DEEF GHID AJJC AKLM NOPN AQQQ QRRQ SDDT QUUV

I know how fire burnsA
How from the wrangling fumesB
Rose and amber bloomsB
And slowly diesC
-
Nothing's so swift as fireD
There's nothing alive so fierceE
The lifted lances pierceE
Sink and upspringF
-
Like an Indian sword it leapsG
Out of the smoking sheathH
Even the winged feet of deathI
Learn speed from fireD
-
And pain its cunning learnsA
Languor its sweetJ
From the decaying heatJ
That never diesC
-
I know how fire burnsA
Unguessed save for tearsK
When the thousand fanged flame spearsL
The body's guardM
-
Or when the mind the mindN
Is ever glowing woodO
And fire runs in the bloodP
Lunatic blindN
-
When remorse burns and burnsA
And burns always alwaysQ
The fire that surest slaysQ
Or surest numbsQ
-
I know how fire burnsQ
But how I cannot tellR
And Heaven burns like HellR
Yet the Heart enduresQ
-
'Tis the immortal FlameS
In mortal life that's bitterD
Or than all sweet sweeterD
Though life burns downT
-
Teach me fire but thisQ
Nor alone destroying burnU
Of thy warmth let me learnU
But most thy lightV
