On The Monument Of The Marquis Of Winchester.[1] Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEFGGHHIIJJ

He who in impious times undaunted stoodA
And 'midst rebellion durst be just and goodA
Whose arms asserted and whose sufferings moreB
Confirm'd the cause for which he sought beforeB
Rests here rewarded by an heavenly princeC
For what his earthly could not recompenseD
Pray reader that such times no more appearE
Or if they happen learn true honour hereF
Ask of this age's faith and loyaltyG
Which to preserve them Heaven confined in theeG
Few subjects could a king like thine deserveH
And fewer such a king so well could serveH
Blest king blest subject whose exalted stateI
By sufferings rose and gave the law to fateI
Such souls are rare but mighty patterns givenJ
To earth and meant for ornaments to heavenJ
