A blossom of no name	B
At midnight the snow came	B
At daybreak a vast rose	C
In darkness unfurl'd	D
O'er petall'd the world	D

Its odourless pallor	E
Blossom'd forlorn	F
Till radiant valour	E
Establish'd the morn	F
Till the night	G
Was undone	H
In her fight	G
With the sun	H
	-
The brave orb in state rose	C
And crimson he shone first	I
While from the high vine	J
Of heaven the dawn burst	I
Staining the great rose	C
From sky line to sky line	J

The red rose of morn	F
A white rose at noon turn'd	K
But at sunset reborn	F
All red again soon burn'd	K
Then the pale rose of noonday	K
Rebloom'd in the night	K
And spectrally white	K
In the light	K
Of the moon lay	L
	-
But the vast rose	C
Was scentless	C
And this is the reason	H
When the blast rose	C
Relentless	C
And brought in due season	H
The snow rose the last rose	C
Congeal'd in its breath	M
Then came with it treason	H
The traitor was Death	M

In lee valleys crowded	K
The sheep and the birds	C
Were frozen and shrouded	K
In flights and in herds	C
In highways	C
And byways	C
The young and the old	K
Were tortured and madden'd	K
And kill'd by the cold	K
But many were gladden'd	K
By the beautiful last rose	C
The blossom of no name	B
That came when the snow came	B
In darkness unfurl'd	K
The wonderful vast rose	C
That fill'd all the world	K
