London Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBB BDEDF DGHIJJ

Athwart the sky a lowly sighA
From west to east the sweet wind carriedB
The sun stood still on Primrose HillC
His light in all the city tarriedB
The clouds on viewless columns bloomedB
Like smouldering lilies unconsumedB
-
'Oh sweetheart see how shadowyB
Of some occult magician's rearingD
Or swung in space of heaven's graceE
Dissolving dimly reappearingD
Afloat upon ethereal tidesF
St Paul's above the city rides '-
-
A rumour broke through the thin smokeD
Enwreathing abbey tower and palaceG
The parks the squares the thoroughfaresH
The million peopled lanes and alleysI
An ever muttering prisoned stormJ
The heart of London beating warmJ
