Bluebird Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFG HIIH JKKJ LMML NDDN OPPO

A wistful note from out the skyA
'Pure pure pure ' in plaintive toneB
As if the wand'rer were aloneB
And hardly knew to sing or cryA
-
But now a flash of eager wingC
Flitting twinkling by the wallD
And pleadings sweet and am'rous callD
Ah now I know his heart doth singC
-
O bluebird welcome back againE
Thy azure coat and ruddy vestF
Are hues that April loveth bestF
Warm skies above the furrowed plainG
-
The farm boy hears thy tender voiceH
And visions come of crystal daysI
With sugar camps in maple waysI
And scenes that make his heart rejoiceH
-
The lucid smoke drifts on the breezeJ
The steaming pans are mantling whiteK
And thy blue wing's a joyous sightK
Among the brown and leafless treesJ
-
Now loosened currents glance and runL
And buckets shine on sturdy bolesM
The forest folk peep from their holesM
And work is play from sun to sunL
-
The downy beats his sounding limbN
The nuthatch pipes his nasal callD
And Robin perched on tree top tallD
Heavenward lifts his evening hymnN
-
Now go and bring thy homesick brideO
Persuade her here is just the placeP
To build a home and found a raceP
In Downy's cell my lodge besideO
