Upon The Flint In The Water Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEFGGHI J KKLL

This flint time out of mind has there abodeA
Where crystal streams make their continual roadA
Yet it abides a flint as much as 'twereB
Before it touched the water or came thereB
Its hard obdurateness is not abatedC
'Tis not at all by water penetratedD
Though water hath a soft'ning virtue in'tE
This stone it can't dissolve for 'tis a flintF
Yea though it in the water doth remainG
It doth its fiery nature still retainG
If you oppose it with its oppositeH
At you yea in your face its fire 'twill spitI

ComparisonJ
-
This flint an emblem is of those that lieK
Like stones under the Word until they dieK
Its crystal streams have not their nature changedL
They are not from their lusts by grace estrangedL
