Of Moses And His Wife Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEFGHHCCII

This Moses was a fair and comely manA
His wife a swarthy EthiopianB
Nor did his milk white bosom change her sinC
She came out thence as black as she went inC
Now Moses was a type of Moses' lawD
His wife likewise of one that never sawD
Another way unto eternal lifeE
There's mystery then in Moses and his wifeE
The law is very holy just and goodF
And to it is espoused all flesh and bloodG
But this its goodness it cannot bestowH
On any that are wedded thereuntoH
Therefore as Moses' wife came swarthy inC
And went out from him without change of skinC
So he that doth the law for life adoreI
Shall yet by it be left a black a moreI
