The Shadow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE

THERE is a shadow on the sunny wallA
Dark and forbidding like a bode of illB
Go drive it thence Alas such shadows fallA
From real things nor may be moved at willB
-
There is a shadow on my heart to dayC
A cloudy grief condensing to a tearD
Alas I cannot drive its gloom awayC
Some sin or sorrow casts the shapeless fearE
