Night Poetry 2 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKLKOh no I would not love again | A |
E'en had I still the power given | B |
I would not risk its pain and fears | C |
E'en though its joys were taste of heaven | B |
A breath may blight the heart we prize | D |
A whisper weave deceit around it | E |
And then our heart's most tender chord | F |
Is wounded by the chain that bound it | E |
- | |
'Tis hard to see death's chilling hand | G |
The life strings of our treasure sever | H |
But harder still when loving hearts | I |
Are rudely rent apart for ever | H |
But ah such griefs are naught to those | J |
That fill the heart where passion burned | K |
Till falsehood burst the mask and showed | L |
That love by heartless scorn returned | K |
