Love Was True To Me Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCCD ABABEFEF GAGAHFHF

LOVE was true to meA
True and tenderB
I who ought to beA
Love's defenderB
Let the cold winds blowC
Till they chilled himD
Let the winds and snowC
Shroud him and I knowC
That I killed himD
-
Years he cried to meA
To be kinderB
I was blind to seeA
And grew blinderB
Years with soft hands raisedE
Fondly reachingF
Wept and prayed and praisedE
Still beseechingF
-
When he died I wokeG
God how lonelyA
When the gray dawn brokeG
On one onlyA
Now beside Love's graveH
I am kneelingF
All he sought and gaveH
I am feelingF
