Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDDC EFFFG

Nation of sun and sinA
Thy flowers and crimes are redB
And thy heart is sore withinA
While the glory crowns thy headB
Land of the songless birdsC
What was thine ancient crimeD
Burning through lapse of timeD
Like a prophet' s cursing wordsC
-
Aloes and myrrh and tearsE
Mix in thy bitter wineF
Drink while the cup is thineF
Drink for the draught is signF
Of thy reign in the coming yearsG
