Forever Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD DEEF FGGC CHIJ JKKC

THOSE we love truly never dieA
Though year by year the sad memorial wreathB
A ring and flowers types of life and deathC
Are laid upon their gravesD
-
For death the pure life savesD
And life all pure is love and love can reachE
From heaven to earth and nobler lessons teachE
Than those by mortals readF
-
Well blest is he who has a dear one deadF
A friend he has whose face will never changeG
A dear communion that will not grow strangeG
The anchor of a love is deathC
-
The blessed sweetness of a loving breathC
Will reach our cheek all fresh through weary yearsH
For her who died long since ah waste not tearsI
She's thine unto the endJ
-
Thank God for one dead friendJ
With face still radiant with the light of truthK
Whose love comes laden with the scent of youthK
Through twenty years of deathC
