Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFGAHHH

The bees are in the meadowA
And the swallows in the skyB
The cattle in the shadowA
Watch the river running byB
The wheat is hardly stirringC
The heavy ox team lagsD
The dragon fly is whirringC
Through the yellow blossomed flagE
And down beside the riverF
Where the trees lean o'er the poolG
Where the shadows reach the quiverF
A boy has come to schoolG
His teachers are the swallowA
And the river and the treesH
His lessons are the shallowsH
And the flowers and the beesH
