Rhyme Scheme: A BA BC DC DE FE FA GA G H IJ IK LK LM NM NOO II

I ONCE was fond of foolsA
-
And bid them come each dayB
Then each one brought his toolsA
-
The carpenter to playB
The roof to strip first choosingC
-
Another to supplyD
The wood as trestles usingC
-
To move it by and byD
While here and there they ranE
-
And knock'd against each otherF
To fret I soon beganE
-
My anger could not smotherF
So cried Get out ye foolsA
-
At this they were offendedG
Then each one took his toolsA
-
And so our friendship endedG
-
Since that I've wiser beenH
-
And sit beside my doorI
When one of them is seenJ
-
I cry Appear no moreI
Hence stupid knave I bellowK
-
At this he's angry tooL
You impudent old fellowK
-
And pray sir who are youL
Along the streets we riotM
-
And revel at the fairN
But yet we're pretty quietM
-
And folks revile us ne'erN
Don't call us names then pleaseO
At length I meet with easeO
-
For now they leave my doorI
'Tis better than beforeI
