Trilogy Of Passion 03 Atonement Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BA BC C D ED EFG H IH IJK

PASSION brings reason who can pacifyA
-
An anguish'd heart whose loss hath been so greatB
Where are the hours that fled so swiftly byA
-
In vain the fairest thou didst gain from fateB
Sad is the soul confused the enterpriseC
-
The glorious world how on the sense it diesC
-
In million tones entwined for evermoreD
-
Music with angel pinions hovers thereE
To pierce man's being to its inmost coreD
-
Eternal beauty has its fruit to bearE
The eye grows moist in yearnings blest reveresF
The godlike worth of music as of tearsG
-
And so the lighten'd heart soon learns to seeH
-
That it still lives and beats and ought to beatI
Off'ring itself with joy and willinglyH
-
In grateful payment for a gift so sweetI
And then was felt oh may it constant proveJ
The twofold bliss of music and of loveK
