IN my boyhood's days so drearA
-
I was kept confinedB
There I sat for many a yearA
-
All alone I pinedB
As within the wombC
-
Yet thou drov'st away my gloomC
-
Golden phantasyD
I became a hero trueA
-
Like the Prince PipiE
And the world roam'd throughA
-
Many a crystal palace builtF
-
Crush'd them with like artG
And the Dragon's life blood spiltF
-
With my glitt'ring dartG
Yes I was a manH
-
Next I formed the knightly planH
-
Princess Fish to freeA
She was much too complaisantI
-
Kindly welcomed meA
And I was gallantI
-
Heav'nly bread her kisses provedJ
-
Glowing as the wineK
Almost unto death I lovedL
-
Sun s appeared to shineK
In her dazzling charmsD
-
Who hath torn her from mine armsD
-
Could no magic bandM
Make her in her flight delayN
-
Say where now her landM
Where alas the wayN
