The Fool's Epilogue Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEFGGHHIDJK LLMMDDNNOPQQDD

MANY good works I've done and endedA
Ye take the praise I'm not offendedA
For in the world I've always thoughtB
Each thing its true position hath soughtB
When praised for foolish deeds am IC
I set off laughing heartilyD
When blamed for doing something goodE
I take it in an easy moodF
If some one stronger gives me hard blowsG
That it's a jest I feign to supposeG
But if 'tis one that's but my own likeH
I know the way such folks to strikeH
When Fortune smiles I merry growI
And sing in dulci jubiloD
When sinks her wheel and tumbles me o'erJ
I think 'tis sure to rise once moreK
-
In the sunshine of summer I ne'er lamentL
Because the winter it cannot preventL
And when the white snow flakes fall aroundM
I don my skates and am off with a boundM
Though I dissemble as I willD
The sun for me will ne'er stand stillD
The old and wonted course is runN
Until the whole of life is doneN
Each day the servant like the lordO
In turns comes home and goes abroadP
If proud or humble the line they takeQ
They all must eat drink sleep and wakeQ
So nothing ever vexes meD
Act like the fool and wise ye'll beD
