HALLO there A glassA
-
Ha the draught's truly sweetB
If for drink go my shoesC
-
I shall still have my feetB
-
A maiden and wineD
-
With sweet music and songE
I would they were mineD
-
All life's journey alongE
-
If I depart from this sad sphereF
And leave a will behind me hereG
A suit at law will be preferr'dH
But as for thanks the deuce a wordH
So ere I die I squander allI
And that a proper will I callI
-
HIS COMRADEJ
-
Hallo there A glassA
-
Ha the draught's truly sweetB
If thou keepest thy shoesC
-
Thou wilt then spare thy feetB
-
A maiden and wineD
-
With sweet music and songE
On pavement are thineD
-
All life's journey alongE
-
THE FREEBOOTERG
-
No door has my houseK
-
No house has my doorG
And in and out everG
-
I carry my storeG
-
No grate has my kitchenL
-
No kitchen my grateM
Yet roasts it and boils itN
-
Both early and lateM
-
My bed has no trestlesK
-
My trestles no bedO
Yet merrier momentsK
-
No mortal e'er ledO
-
My cellar is loftyP
-
My barn is full deepQ
From top to the bottomR
-
There lie I and sleepQ
-
And soon as I wakenL
-
All moves on its raceK
My place has no fixtureG
-
My fixture no placeK
