Preservation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B BA C D DC E F FE G H IG A J KA L M MN

My maiden she proved false to meA
-
To hate all joys I soon beganB
-
Then to a flowing stream I ranB
The stream ran past me hastilyA
-
There stood I fix'd in mute despairC
-
My head swam round as in a dreamD
-
I well nigh fell into the streamD
And earth seem'd with me whirling thereC
-
Sudden I heard a voice that criedE
-
I had just turn'd my face from thenceF
-
It was a voice to charm each senseF
Beware for deep is yonder tideE
-
A thrill my blood pervaded nowG
-
I look'd and saw a beauteous maidH
-
I asked her name twas Kate she saidI
Oh lovely Kate how kind art thouG
-
From death I have been sav'd by theeA
-
'Tis through thee only that I liveJ
-
Little 'twere life alone to giveK
My joy in life then deign to beA
-
And then I told my sorrows o'erL
-
Her eyes to earth she sweetly threwM
-
I kiss'd her and she kiss'd me tooM
And then I talked of death no moreN
