From Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BA B C DC D E CE C FF G G H IH IFF G G

WHO never eat with tears his breadA
-
Who never through night's heavy hoursB
Sat weeping on his lonely bedA
-
He knows you not ye heavenly powersB
-
Through you the paths of life we gainC
-
Ye let poor mortals go astrayD
And then abandon them to painC
-
E'en here the penalty we payD
-
WHO gives himself to solitudeE
-
Soon lonely will remainC
Each lives each loves in joyous moodE
-
And leaves him to his painC
-
Yes leave me to my griefF
Were solitude's reliefF
-
E'er granted meG
-
Alone I should not beG
-
A lover steals on footstep lightH
-
To learn if his love's aloneI
Thus o'er me steals by day and nightH
-
Anguish before unknownI
Thus o'er me steals deep griefF
Ah when I find reliefF
-
Within the tomb so lonelyG
-
Will rest be met with onlyG
